Bibliothèque de Genève
The Bibliothèque de Genève (Library of Geneva) is among the oldest university libraries in Switzerland. It is responsible for preserving written material produced in print in the Canton of Geneva. At the same time it is also a study and research library for the Arts and Humanities, focusing on the Reformation and the Enlightenment. Its extensive stocks of rare books include over 460 incunabula, more than 5’600 volumes from the 16th, some 10’000 from the 17th and over 300’000 from the 18th century. A good 1’800 titles are being digitized as part of the e-rara.ch project, half of them in the field of theology.
