Body Sand-Papering Machine.
With Adjustable Arbor and Duplex Fence.
This machine is built with heavy plate sides, designed for polishing buggy-bodies, seats, and other forms that can not be passed through an AutomaticFeed Sand-Papering Machine.
The vertical arbor carrying the sand-papering disk, or cylinder, is extralarge, lead-ground, runs in long, connected bearings, between which is placedthe driving pulley on the arbor, and has a vertical adjustment to suit differentdepths of cut.
The table is entirely of iron, made in two sections, planed perfectly true,and fitted with a duplex table fence across the center, allowing two operatorsto work, one upon each side of the machine, at the same time.
The sand-papering disk, or cylinder, is 36" in diameter, and covered with ayielding material, over which the sand-paper is placed and secured by a clampring pressed below its cutting surface.
The pulley on the spindle is and should make 500 revolutions. A
countershaft accompanies each machine, with 12"x5" tight and loose pulleys,which should make 250 revolutions.
