be weighed down by so clear a Presumption inits Favour. But really the external Evidencefor this Passage greatly exceeds that which isalledged against it. For E/r/?, Out of the vastNumber of Greek MSS. which contain the Gos-pel * of St. Matthew three only want this Dox-ology. Two of these are remarkable for theirAccordance with the Vulgar, and are supposed bygood Judges to have been reformed by it. But in anotherPlace the same learned Person having no Hypothesis to serve, freely declares it most probable that the Arabuk Version wasmade not from the Syriack , but directly from a Greek Copy.Prol. 1296.
