The new Text has cv rni h^ia, dvIS' BothForms occur in the New Testament , though thelatter be certainly the more customary of theTwo. But for that Reason it is the more un-likely to be genuine* .For it was not usual withCopijis to put less frequent Forms instead of morefrequent Ones, but vice versa. Besides, em tLujSi^idv is the Reading of all the Greek Copies, except four, and of Chrysostom . It occurs butonce, save in this Place, viz. Rev. v. 7.

The Editor omits on in his new Text, andso do "Bezos s Greek MS. the Vulgar and theOriental Versions in the Bolyglott. So that inStrictness he has no Vouchers for this Omission, but Beza's Greek and Jeroms Latin. For Ihave before observed, that the Eastern Versionsare apt to leave out redundant Particles, whereit is next to certain, that they found them in theirOriginals. Thus with respect to otz, the Particleof present Concern, the Syriack omits it, Matt.vii. 23. though owned by all Greek Copies, andby every other Version. Again, none of Wal-ton's Orientals have this Particle, John x. 3 6 .tho’the Vulgar and all the extant Greek MSS.retain it. Nor does Mills think either of theseOmissions worthy to be noted among his variousReadings. Moreover, all the Rules for distin-guishing genuine Lection are with the old Text.
