Jiorical and Critical on the Revelations ascribed toSt. John. A Tract contrived, not only to ruinthe Credit of that particular Book , but also toweaken the Testimony of the Fathers to sacredBooks and Authors in general. To which End theAuthor has collected and occasionally inserted eve-ry Scandal upon the Ancients, that came withinthe Compass of his Reading. So that the Discoursebefore us, tho’ in Appearance levelled at a singleBook of the New T'ejlament , does in Consequenceaffect the whole Canon. Having therefore in thesecond Part vindicated the other disputed Pieces a-gainst the Cavils of the Annotator ; I propose inthis third and last Part, a Defence of the Revela-tions against the successive Attempts of him, andof the Author of the Discourse abovementioned. My Method shall be First to set down the Reasonswhy the Book should be ascribed, as it generallyis, to St. John the Apostle and Evangelist, andSecondly to consider the Objections of the Adver-saries aforesaid, against this current Opinion.
