Seventhly, There are many Instances in the Re-velations, of Construction and Acceptation ofWords altogether peculiar to John the Evangelist,which demonstrate that he wrote that Book ,E. G.
1. Rev. i. i. signifies obscurely to inti-
mate a divine or preternatural ‘Truth . And thisparticular Acceptation of the Word is found onlyin the Gospel of S t.John, cb.x ii. 33. cAxviii. 32.ch.xx i. 19. St. Luke uses it, but differently. ThusA£ls xi. 28. it stands for open and express pro-phesying, &c. xxv. 27. for plain certifying byLetter.
2. Rev. i. 2. 'Ocrct is used for a, as it is some-times also in the Septuagint. But the only re-maining indisputable Instance of this, in the NewTeflament, is John xxi. 25. In all other Places,iVa means qucecunquc or quanta or at least may sosignify. So Alls ix. 39,
