the monogram of the French poet, Phillippe Des Portes.
91. Der Stat Nurmberg verneiite Reformation, 1564. Folio. Frankfort onthe Main, 1566. Large paper; two vols. in one. A magnificent specimen ofGerman binding of the period. The sides and back are covered with gold tooling,and variously coloured. This copy was no doubt presented to the EmperorMaximilian II. as his arms are painted on the elegantly gauffred gilt edges, togetherwith those of Nuremberg.

93. Poetica di Aristotele vulgarizzata et sposta per Lodovico Castelvetro.4to. Vienna, 1570. A beautiful specimen of inlaid morocco binding by Deromepere; the inside lined with purple morocco with gilt borders.

Engravings by Peter van der Borclit,Hieronymus Wierix, Peter Hiis, and Abraham de Bruin. In a vellum bindingcuriously cut into squares, through which a lining of crimson silk is seen.
