52. Having, by the mediums of several trials, found thetimes corresponding to eacli revolution, in the 3rd columnof this table, corresponding to the weights in the 2 nd co-lumn, and angles of inclination in the lirst column; the cir-cumference of revolution, viz, 28j- feet, being divided bythese times, gives the velocity per second, as placed in the4th column.
Then the first weight, of 10 oz, when the very thin edgeof the plane only was opposed to the air, being deductedfrom every weight in the 2nd column, leaves the weights inthe .5th column, which are to be considered as the actuatingweights at the barrel of the axis, very nearly.
