The Danish and Norwegian literature was common to both countries till their politicalseparation in 1814, when Norway was united with Sweden . The language used in Norway in writing, and by all educated persons, in speaking, is identical with the Danish . Hencethen every medical work published in Denmark till 1814 may be considered as also belongingto Norwegian literature. Since that year no work on pharmacology has been published inNorway . The King has, however, appointed a committee to prepare a new pharmacopoeia forthat country. The Pkarmacopcea JDanica has hitherto been used there. Several articles onpharmacology have appeared in the following Norwegian periodical:— Eyr, et medicinskTidskrift. 11 vols. Commenced in 1826, and continued by Dr. Holst till 1837.
