ANCIENT DELTA OP CORRYHEURICH BURN.
From 100 to 200 feet above the base of the valleyat that place, sloping terraces spread out along thesides of the little glen through which the Corry-heurich burn descends. Each corresponds in heightand slope with one on the opposite side. One ofthe higher and more entire extends along the prin-cipal valley for a considerable way, with a slopewhich terminates in nearly a flat. The lower areless entire. The whole bear a rude resemblance tothe seats in an amphitheatre. It is remarkable ofmany of these formations, that the opening betweenthe terraces is slightly turned down the principalvalley; and the terraces are usually most entire inthat direction, while on the opposite side we arelikely to find the greater masses of the material, but
