In January, 1793,1 published a Sermon entitled,The Wisdomand Goodness of God in having made both Rich and Poor; withan Appendix respecting the then circumstances of Great Britain and France . A strong spirit of insubordination and discontentwas, at that time, prevalent in Great Britain ; the common peoplewere, in every village, talking about liberty and equality withoutunderstanding the terms.
