Mr. Pitt's Answer to the preceding Letter.
“ My dear Lord, Downing-Street , April 17th, 1800.
“ I return Your Lordship many thanks for your letter ofyesterday, in which you have the goodness to communicate tome many important suggestions on the subject of a plan for en-forcing a better residence of the clergy. I will, with your per-mission, send you a copy of the plan which has been prepared,and I am happy to observe, that in many essential points it willbe found very conformable to the sentiments which you haveexpressed. On the only points in which it differs, I should beextremely glad to have an opportunity of conversing with youbefore you leave town.
