Westring has under the name of A. frontalis united the maleof the real A. frontalis Walcic. (the female of which he describesunder the name of A. striolatus) with the female of Salt, reticulatusBlackw. Of this last species I have a f ad. from England, witliwhich I have been kindly favoured by Cambridge; I have myself oftenfound specimens of it in the neighbourhood of Goteborg , and on oneoccasion a d acl. It has also been met with in Upland and in Got land . A specimen which I sent to Simon has by him been identifiedas A. reticulatus Sim. Of A. striolatus Westr. or the real E. fron-talis, I have collected numerous specimens at Pyrmont in Germany ,and I have also found it in Berner Oberland and at several placesin Sweden . The male of E. reticulata, which Westring had neverseen, resembles the female very closely both in form and colour: thehindermost eyes are situated almost in the middle of the cephalo-thorax, and the posterior tibiae and metatarsi are without spines, as inthe female, whereas the contrary is the case in E. frontalis , both dand ?.
