Synonymy .

First described by Haworth, in1829, in his “Lepidoptera Britan-nica,” under the name of Recurvariamaculea ; Stephens next described itin bis “ Illustrations,” under the nameof Anacampsis maculella ; Douglasin the second volume, new series, ofthe “ Transactions of the Entomolo-gical Society of London,” describesand illustrates the transformations ofthis species under the name ofGelechia blandella; Stainton , in hisvolume of the “ Insecta Britannica,”describes it under the name ofGelechia maculea ; Herrich-Schafferdescribes and figures it in his“ Schmetterlinge von Europa,” underthe name of Gelechia blandella, andunder this name it has since beendescribed by Tengstrom in his “ An-markningar och Tillagg till FinlandsSmafjaril-Fauna.”
