The Prince Regent, as a mark of His Royal Approbation of the distinguished gallantry of the Brigadeof Foot Guards in the Victory of Waterloo, has been pleased, in the name and on the behalf of His Majesty,to approve of all the Ensigns of the Three Regiments of Foot Guards having the Rank of Lieutenants, andthat such Rank shall be attached to all the future Appointments to Ensigncies in the Foot Guards, In thesame manner as the Lieutenants in those Regiments obtain the Rank of Captain:

His Royal Highness has also been pleased to approve of the First Regiment of Foot Guards being made aRegiment of Grenadiers, and styled The First, or Grenadier Regiment of Foot Guards in commemo-ration of their having defeated the Grenadiers of the French Imperial Guards upon this memorable occasion.

1 The Duke of Wellington has received a cross and nine clasps for Roleia andVimiera, Talavera, Busaeo,Fuentes dOnor, Ciudad Rodrigo , Bddajoz, Salamanca, Vittona, Pyrenees , Nivelle, Nive, Ortbes, and Toulouse .To sketch an outline of the pre-eminent services of the greatest soldier of the age, would far exceed thelimits of this work.

3 Col. Grant served Sir John Moore s campaign in 1809, including battle of Corunna; expedition to Wal-cheren ; Peninsula , 1812, 13, and 14.

4 Col. Ellison served at Cadiz in 1811; the Peninsula in 1812, 13, and 14; battles of Quatre Bras andWaterloo, and taking of Peronne , 23th June, 1815. Received the Brevet rank of Major for his conduct atWaterloo.

5 Col. Clive served in the Peninsula in 1814. Present at the battles of Quatre Bras, aud Waterloo, andtaking of Peronne.

7 Colonel Lascelles served in the Peninsula in 1814. Present at the battles of Quatre Bras andWaterloo, and taking of Peronne.

8 Lieut.-Col. Boldero served at Cadiz in 1810 and 11; in the Peninsula in 1812 and 13 ; and in Holland in1814. Was Adjutant at the battles of Quatre Bras, Waterloo, and taking of Peronne.

9 Lieut.-Col. Honyman served the campaign of 1814 in Holland , and was present at the bombardment ofAntwerp , and storming of Bergen-op-Zoom , where he commanded the leading sub-division of the stormingparty of the Grenadier Guards.

10 Lieut.-Col. Perceval served in the Peninsula in 1813 and 14, and was severely wounded at Bayonne. 14thApril, 1814.
