38 Captain Willess services: Sir Richard Straclians action, 4 Nov. 1805; West Indies ,1808 to 1812, including the capture of the city of St. Domingo in 1809; South Beveland , win-ter of 1813 ; Operations in the Chesapeake under Sir George Cockburn ; Capture of Wash-ington; Advance to Baltimore , in 1814; Capture of Cumberland Island on the coast ofGeorgia , and of the town of Saint Marys,1814; Coast of Africa , 1817; East Indies, 1832 to1835. Various boat and other services.

40 Captain Garmston was at the taking of Fort Koupan, Isle of Temour, in 1811; cap-ture of Java , in 1812 ; attack of Palembang , isle of Sumatra , and Sambass, isle of Borneo ;Algiers in 1816. Present at the Sortie from Bilboa 15th May; the advance on the 28thMay; and was wounded at the defence of the lines of San Sebastian 6th June, 1836.

41 Captain John Harvey Stevens served in the West Indies , &c. in 1806 and 1807,during the expedition to Walclieren in 1809, and was engaged in several flotilla affairs onthe Scheldt. Served also at the successful defence of Cadiz and of Tarifa in 1810 and 1811;was engaged in several detached operations, particularly in one of a severe character on theriver Guadalquiver. In 1813 was employed on the coast of America , where he was engagedin an attack on Craney Island, and at the taking of Hampton and Ocracoke under Sir George Cockburn . Served in Canada at the taking of Oswego, on which occasion he wasmentioned in Sir Gordon Drummonds despatches. Engaged during a six weeks siege ofFort Erie, and was intrusted with the construction of a field-work for the defence of theright of the position on Chippewa Creek, which was menaced by a very superior force. In1816 he was on board the Queen Charlotte at the attack on Algiers under Lord Exmouth,by whom he was detached to fire carcasses at the enemys vessels within the Mole. He wasalso present at the demonstrations before Algiers under Admiral Sir II. B. Neale. Capt.Stevens is now superintendent of the Marine Artillery Laboratory, which establishmentoriginated in his proposition, and was organized by him.

42 Captain Wm. Ford served at the island of Anholt,in 1811, and at Nyburg; he was atthe capture of three Danish luggers from under the batteries.

44 Captain Fegen was at the taking of the fort and town of Guadia; capture of theenemys convoy under batteries near Marseilles ; destruction of French forts near PortVendre; the taking of Zante , Cephalonia , and Cerigo ; capture of enemys forts and convoyat Pezzero, in the Adriatic; action in the Bay of Naples , 3rd May, 1810, when Sir Jahleel Brenton , in the Spartan , defeated the whole of the enemys squadron, and captured a brig ofwar; at the capturing an enemys convoy from under the batteries of Terracino, in 1810;and at the destruction of several American privateers in the Bay of Fundy , by theSpartan.

45 Captain Scott was at the destruction of two ships of the line in the Bay of Cette, 26thOct. 1809; in action with the French fleet off* Toulon, 19tli July, 1811; in the action atNavarino, 20th Oct. 1827.

46 Major Leonard was at the storming of the enemys works at the Islgnd of Santa Maura , and at the siege of the fortress until its surrender in March, 1810. Served in threeboat actions when belonging to the Magnificent. When in the Perlea he was in action withone line-of-battle ship and two frigates, off Toulon, from eight until three oclock, Nov. 1811.In a boat action, and about the same time, engaged with the batteries and three armedschooners at the entrance of the Petit Pass, off Toulon.

46* Major Morrison was at the capture of a frigate moored to the Forts of Valona. in1809 ; at the capture of all the Ionian Islands , in 1810, and was wounded by a musket ballin the head in storming some intrenched batteries at Santa Maura ; at the destruction of aFrench brig of war, in 1811. He was also present in all the late service in Syria , and com-manded the first battalion of Marines at the storming aud capture of Sidon , for which hereceived the Brevet-rank of Major; he was also senior Captain of Marines at Acre.

47 Major Robinson served at the siege of Copenhagen in 1807, and was engaged inthe in-shore squadron with the Danish flotilla and crown batteries. In the action withand destruction of the French squadron in the inner roads of Aix, 12th April, 1809, in theValiant , the senior officers ship actually engaged. At the siege of Flushing, and the sub-

sequent operations in the Scheldt in 1809. On the coast of France in 1810 and 1811 inboat affairs. In the 1st battalion of Royal Marines throughout the campaign of 1813 in theChesapeake, commencing with the attack on Cranie Island. In the same battalion in thedefence of Lower Canada in the winter of 1813 and in 1814 principally employed on theoutposts of the army on the American frontier. In 1814 in command of a company of the1st battalion Royal Marines in the capture of Cumberland Island, and the attack and cap-ture of the fortified post and town of St. Marys, Georgia .

48 Captain Dawes was at the siege of Copenhagen in 1807.
