GENERAL OBSERVATIONS ON THE GENUS BUCCULATRIX.

In 1857 the larva of Cristatella Iwas discovered, by Mr. Wilkinson,on Achillea millefolium, and since thatdate no new discoveries have beenmade in this genus, either of newspecies, or of larvae.

The stationary condition of ourknowledge of Bucculatrix, comparedwith the recent rapid developmentof our information in the generaNepticula and Coleophora, affords astriking contrast.

En 1857 M. Wilkinson a découvertla chenille de la Cristatella sur 1’ Achil-lea millefolium, et depuis lors on n’atrouvé ni papillons nouveaux, nichenilles nouvelles à ajouter à cegenre.

Cet état stationnaire de notre con-naissance des Bucculatrix contrastevivement avec le rapide développe-ment qu’ont dernièrement pris lesétudes sur les Nepticula et les Coleo-phora.
