Cost of Canal and Fixtures.
The actual cost of this canal is about $450,000. The State expendedabout $390,000 on it, and left it in an unfinished state, and would make nofurther appropriations for its completion. The Legislature , in 1844, incorporated this company, and released all ownership in the canal, investing ti> 8same in this company. [See the act of incorporation.)
