Dear Sir :—Your favor of 7th instant is at hand, and contents noted.We regret to say that in consequence of unexpected delays in closing upour business for the year, it is impossible for us to make up a full and correctexhibit in time for your report, and we do not wish to make one which isincomplete or incorrect.

As soon as we can complete our statements for 1863, we will fill up andreturn the blank report furnished by you, and this we hope to do in a fewdays.
