should acquaint you that the Victualler, which he broughtfrom Gibraltar , is still at the former place. In the event ofyour falling in with any other of his Majestys Ships, you willacquaint their Commanders that I am on my way to theMadalena Islands, and recommend their approaching thatplace with caution, unless they are satisfied of my arrivalthere, as it is probable the Enemy may have taken possessionof them.

Sir,

I am on my way with the Squadron to Rendezvous No. 60,where I am to desire you will join me in his Majestys Ship under your command, without a moments loss of time, toge-ther with any Transport or Victualler which may be underyour charge; and as it is probable the Enemy may have takenpossession of the Port to which the above Rendezvous alludes,you will approach it with great caution, unless you learn thatI have gained that anchorage. I am, &c.

If this goes on, 6 you may acquaint them that I will anchorin Rosas with the Squadron, and receive our daily supplies,which will offend the French much more than our staying atsea. Refreshments we have a right to as long as we remainat Peace. I am, &c.
