follow according to y e Bounds made, and no Just Reason, that I can learn, why it did not Issueaccording to the Grant, the bounds mentioned in the 'Patent leaves out all the Buildings and Improve-ments in Kent, and unless the Patent is Rectified (which I presume it is Easy to be Done) it willRuin the Township and the Settlers, and y e Settlement of y e same.

I would therefore Intreat your Excellency in your wonted goodness and favour to make thePatent agreable to y e said Grant.

I would also pray your Excellency to acquaint Governor Wentworth of the said Riotous affairwhen you have M r Lords Information (which I have not had time to get since I came home) thatthe Rietors may be brought to justice.

To His Excellency William Tryon Esq .

P. S. If your Excellency would be pleased to make a grant to the said Judge Lord, for his goodservices, in the County of Cumberland, but more especially for assisting the Sheriff with the Possewhen he went to apprehend the Rietors at Windsor, wherein he was very servisable in stilling thesame, and for which he has never had any Reward as some others have had, In some of the unap-propriated Lands in this Province or in some of the Townships that was granted by the LateGovernor Wentworth Dec d , that he granted to himself and which by a Late Resolve of the presentGovernor Wentworth and y e Council of y e Province of New Hampshire Declared Did not convey atitle to y e said Governor Wentworth Dec d I should take it as a great mark of favour from yourExcellencys Dutifull

Obedient and most Humble Servant

Thomas Chandler.

ESQR. MUNRO TO GOV. TRYON.

May it please your Excellency in due obedience to your Excellency’s Command I herewith sendyou the Information of Benjamin Buck and Jonathan White who are well acquainted with thebehaviour of their neighbours and who’s information may be depended on for trouth for I forcedthem in a manner ; not but that they were willing but they are afraid of the Mob’s destroying alltheir property.

I would not be understood that I mean to draw your Excellencys displeasure upon them, but Ifind that every act of indulgence which the Government offers is rejected with disdain ; and by thebest Information I can get they are determined to oppose the authority of this Government assigningfor reason that should they comply it will weaken their New Hampshire Title, and they shall loseall their Lands for this reason they shall Fight ’till they die ; however if this Benington was welldrest I presume all the rest will fall of course and that the Government will be restored to peace.

My House was to be Burnt a New Years day yet Providence have preserved all as yet and hadthey come according to the Information I had, I was ready for to receive them, however I am veryglad they did not appear.

I am informed that they have established a Company in Bennington Commanded by JohnWarner of said Town and that a New Years day he had his Company reviewed and continued allday fireing at marks—I have sent several summons after a number of the Spectator’s, that I maybe enabled to transmit to your Excellency a proper return of this Company but as yet not onea Ppeared, however I shall have some of them by and by.
