the attack on the right, the other on a sheltered piece of ground to thewest of Cathcart’s Hill, for the attack on the left of the British position.The whole of the Sapper force was assembled on the plateau (with theexception of 21 men, who remained at Balaklava to assist in the dis-embarkation of the stores and the repair of the wharves), and was dividedinto two nearly equal parties, the 4th, 8th, and 10th Companies taking theattack on the right, and th'e 3d and 11th that on the left of the Britishposition.
