We were employed in sending down ammunition to the trenches, replacingguns, &c.

Sent down to the trenches :—

1st May.—Left Attack: 1 13-inch mortar and bed.

2d „ „ 1 32-pounder gun and carriage.

3d ,, Right Attack: 1 8-inch gun.

Left Attack: 1 13-inch mortar.

4th „ „ 1 13-inch mortar.

Tiie Russians continue actively engaged in covering their advanced works, and they haveconstructed a new battery on then" left of the Mamelon. Troops are constantly in motion on theNorth side.

From this day to the 23rd May no casualties occurred in the Royal Artillery.The firing had almost ceased.

The labour of supplying the Batteries was very severe, owing to theextremely rainy weather.

Sent down one 8-inch gun to Left Attack.

Captain M. Adye, Royal Artillery, arrived from England this day, and wasattached to do duty with No. 6. Company, 11th Battalion, at the RightAttack.

Lieut . Maule, Royal Artillery, arrived from England, and joined No. 7Company, 11th Battalion, at the Right Attack. Lieutenants Geary and Ricearrived from England at the same time, and joined their respective Companiesat the Left Attack.
