Mr. Woodward, Mr. Waterhouse, Mr. J. Leckenby, Prof. Phillips, Dr.Wright, Mr. Lycett, Mr. Howse, and Mr. D. Sharpe have suggested manynotes and additions to the Cephalopoda, Brachiopoda, &c. The list of Eocene fossils has been reyised by Mr. F. Edwards, to which also additions havebeen made by Mr. Prestwich and Mr. N. T. Wetherell; and for the CragMollusca we are indebted to Mr. S. Wood.

For such valuable assistance rendered to the work in these several sections,the Editor acknowledges his great obligation; and further, to Mr. D. Sharpeand Mr. T. R. Jones, for their general interest and critical suggestions duringthe progress of the Catalogue through the press.
