Hab. Mexico , Dept. Oaxaca , Liebm. in Herb. Nostr. —This is a very peculiar-looking plant, very uniform in the three fronds in my possession, and bearingcopious, though not very advanced sori. It is quite unlike any other Asplenium with anastomosing venation.

(Anisogonium) Kunzei, Mett.; caudex short stouterect, stipites 6-14 inches long stout and as well as the ra-chis and costa and often the primary veins beneath furfu-raceo-paleaceous, fronds subcoriaceous blackish-green from10-14 inches long or more subspathulato-elliptical acutecuneate or attenuated at the base entire or irregularly andacutely sublobate at the margin or broad ovato-truncate atthe base and variously sometimes deeply pinnatifid with asubtriangular and acute entire apex or deltoideo-ovate andpinnated in the lower half with two pairs of nearly oppositesessile lateral pinnae oblong 6-10 inches long 2 inches broadshortly and rather bluntly acuminated truncated at thebase, the upper half or nearly so 8 inches long broad trian-gular acute deeply pinnatifid with large horizontal segmentsof the same shape as the pinnae, veins numerous horizon-tally patent fascicled several times dichotomous copiouslyanastomosing even from the base where they form largecostal areoles, sori diplazioid attached to all the veins conti-nuous and anastomosing with them, involucres membrana-ceous brown singularly crispato-undulate.— Metten.
