In thisrespect, Lindblom’s observations on the desert of the Bygle-and Hekle-Fjelds, or the most southern part of the high-lands, which were made many years ago, but are againbrought forward in the present memoir, are instructive.The predominating plants of some tracts in this part,e. g. between Siredal and Lysefjord , are Molinia caeruleaand Solidago virgaurea, and these displace all others.The alpine plants of this region, as shown by the followinglist of them, also grow in Ilardanger, and do not resemblethose of the Brocken or the Sudeten, to which, among thewhole of the Scandinavian mountains they are most nearlysituated.
