REPORT OF RAY SOCIETY.
With regard to a third volume, the Council had resolved to publish a first part ofthe second volume of the * Bibliographia Zoologia,’ when an offer was made to themby Professor Allman of a Memoir on the 4 British Fresh-water Zoophytes,’ withcoloured drawings of all the species. As this work is nearly ready for publication,and as it would be almost impossible for the Society to print it either in 1850 or1851, when it is hoped the two remaining parts of Alder and Hancock’s work onthe ‘ British Nudibranchiate Mollusca ’ will be published, the Council hope thatProfessor Allman will be able to complete his work in time for its publication withthe works for the present year. Should this be done, the second volume of theBibliographia complete, a considerable portion of which is printed, will be publishedin 1850, with Part Y of Alder and Hancock’s work, and the volume of Linnaeus ’s‘Travels in West Gothland, ’ translated from the Swedish by E. B. H. Lewin, Esq.
