Les rues très longues sont divisées par série de numéros. Exemple :rue de Rivoli ; la partie comprenant les numéros de 1 à 27 est desserviepar la station Saint-Paul ; de 27 à 56, par la station Hôtel-de-Ville ;53 a iio, par Châtelet ; 91 à 150, par Louvre; 150 à 170, Palais- Royal ; 170 à 206, Tuileries ; 206 à 268, Concorde.
