The Pcnumha was very Obscure, and the Beginning of tbeEciifse was at hand.

The Edisse was Bcgun, the Quantity almost half a Digit,and the Distance bctween the Cusps was about 42. Degrees ofthe Moon’s Limb, and Palus Mareotis was just all Eclipsied Jhencewe may conclude the Beginning about 9h. 21' 30".

As near as I can collect, was the time of the Total Im-mersion into the Shadow ; to verify which, the Azimuth of theMoon’s Center was observed to the East, 41 0 i8 / 3 %' iil'of time aster the ßid Immersion.

Or ic/ 11" before the Culmination of the Bjgbt Sboulder ofOrion, was the Emersion or first Appearance of the Moon out ofthe Total Darkness.

Was the just End of the Edipfe, being 1! xq" before theCulmination of Syrius.

Whence the Middlc of this Edipfe fhould have happened at iih. 18'p.m. at N uremburg : the Total Duration zh. yz' 30", and the Total Darkness:ih. 49' 30".

The Meiidian Altitude cf the Moon’s upper Limb was observed63° 23' yo", and the Moon’s apparent Diameter while totally Eclipsed wasfound 30' 07

was the Beginning of the Edisse, at about 119 Degrees of theLimb 01 the Moon in Hevclws Selenograpby.

Palus Marreotis was all covered.

The Total Immersion, about the 299dl Degree of the Limb ofthe Moon.

The Moon began to Emerge out of the Shadow, about the 112thDegree of her Limb.

The End of the Edipfe about the 29yth Degree of the Limb.

By these Observations the Middle of the Eclipse ought to have been about1 ih. 19'. p. m. at Nuremburg, differing but one Minute srom M. Eimmart’iObservation.

The Duration will be 3h. yand the Total Darkness ih. 4 6 1 .
