Ear. The two Sides of this Triangle were two times and an half biggerthan the Baßi ; so that the Comet was 4 0 of Gemini, in the Northern Lar.of 5 0 ;8'.
Apr. 5. 8 h . at cven, the Comet had passed the Northern Ear of Taurus, andwas equally Distant from the Upper Star of the Northern Ear and from thatwhich was on the Front of Taurus. He was also as Distant from the InferiorStar of the Ear of Taurus, as this Star is from the next Westward, by Tychacalled Inferior procedentis Lateris Quadrilateri ; and a Srreight Line, drawntbrough the Comet and the Upper Star of the Ear, made an alirmst RightAngle with another Line, drawn from the Comet to the Inferior of the twoStars, that are above the Eye of Taurus. This Place belog carried over to the• Map of the Fix 7 d Stari, the Comet was found at 6° 18'. of Gemini, inthe Northern Lutit. of 3 0 41*. He was so confused this Night, that evenwith the 17 Foot Telefcope we could not exactly distinguish the Head fromthe Chevelure which environed him. The whole appeared a little biggerthan the Disque of Jupiter , feen by the fame Telefcope.
Apr. 6. 8 h . at even, a Srreight Line drawn from the Comet to the Starthat is in the Front of Taurus, made a Right Angle with another StreightLine drawn from this fame Star to the Inferior of the two that are above theEye : And the Distance of this Latter Star to that of the Front of Taurus wastwice the Distance of the fame Star of the Front of Taurus to the Comet. ThisPlace being transferred upon the Map of the Fixt Stari, the Comet was foundat 7" 25'. of Gemini, in tbe'Northern Ladt. of 2 0 45s At 9 11 6’. we fawon the fide of the Comet a Star fufficiently ciear, which was not- farthcr Di-stant from him than a little more than the Diameter of the Comet, and thatwas at the fame height of the Horizon.
Apr. 7. 9 h . in the Evening, the Comet was equally Distant from the Infe-rior Star of the Northern Ear of Taurus, and from the Superior of the root ofthe Northern Horn. He was also as far Distant from this latter Star, as thisStar is from that of the Front. This Place, being catried over to the Mapof the Fix'd Stars, feli on 8° zo'. of Gemini, in the Northern Latir. ofl° 5 'S'.
All the Places of the Comet , that we have Obscrved till now, fall into aLine little diifering from an Arch of a great Circle, which cuts the Eciiptick.in of Gemini, and which consequently hath iis greatest Lariiucie in
io 0 4{ f . of Pisces-, which Latitude'is between 39 0 and 40° Northward. Thefame Circle cuts the JEquator at 101 degrees of the Vernal Seciion Last ward, and its greatest Declination from the Aiquator Northward is of 3'8 0 L
Having chofen two of our Fit st Oblervations (becaufe the latter are notso proper for this purpofe) and having tasten a Mean between the sttst Ob-servat ions of tlie Mathematicians of La Flesche, we found, by our hUthodexplained in the Theory of the Comet of 166*5, that this Comet bad beenin his Perigce the u of March at 8 a Clock in the Morning : that in thattime, which is that of his greatest apparent Celerity, he made about 2° 32'a duy in the Great Circle of his apparent Motion, and of hi s-PerigceDi.france in the Line of his Equal Motion : that he was in his' greatest
