XX. An. 1680. OB. 25. St. v. Sijos Ponthia, and Marco Antonio Cellio Long. 0 / Rom<with a Telefcope of 27 Palms, Observed tbe Total Immersion of the First Sa-

tollite into Jupiters Shadow at Rome, at io’ 1 / 73". p. m. which in our FUmsteed.Observatory here I noted at 9’’ 17' 41", whose Difference is the Differente 177-of our Meridians = 72 / I2 ,/ , or 13 0 03'. Again, Jan. 28. 1687. S.

Francis Blanchini Observed the Total Immersion os the First at ffotne, at Iih !()'+which I saw not here, but my Numbers give at io* 1 27'^. ThereforetheDifference of Meridians is y2 , J-, and Home lies lo much more Eaftcrly thanthe Obfcrvatory of Greemoich ; agreeing with the former Observation.

The Noble Tycha judged therefore not much amiss, when he placed Vrani-hurg and Rome under the fame Meridian ; for by several Observations of Sa-tellite Eclipses it is Evident, that the Difference of Meridians betwixt Vrani-hurg and our Observatory is 7 V 10" of Time, so that Rome lies only oneMinute of Time, or 4 of a Deg. to the East of Vraniburg.

XXI. 1. Dantsicb. is by many and undoubted Observations proved to bel h 17' 30". more Easterly than London.
