Canal.

place, a similar reduction shall be made and continued ongoods, &cc. passing from this canal, except such as are navi-gated towards Birmingham; and further, they have agreed,not to take more than the following rates, viz.

For all coals, goods, merchandize, and other things, whichshall pass from this canal into or upon the Worcester andBirmingham canal, and from thence into or upon the canalintended to be made from the said Worcester and Birminghamcanal towards the town of Stratford upon Avon, the same sumin gross for every ton of such coals, goods, merchandize, andthings, as would for the time being have been payable to thecompany of proprietors of the Worcester and Birminghamcanal for the like articles, if the same had been brought fromthe town of Birmingham, and had passed along the said Wor-cester and Birmingham canal, and from thence into the Strat-ford Canal; and so in proportion for any less quantity than aton, but without any regard to the distance the lame shall passupon the said Worcester and Birmingham canal.

For all coal and coak which shall pass from this canal, intothe said Worcester and Birmingham canal, and along the sametowards the city of Worcester, and shall not pass into theStratford canal, the same tonnage for every ton of such coalsand coak as would for the time being have been payable to thecompany of proprietors of the said Worcester and Birminghamcanal for such coals and coak, if the same had been broughtfrom the town of Birmingham, and so in proportion for anyless quantity than a ton, but without any regard to the distancethe same shall pass upon the said Worcester and Birminghamcanal.
