Divers Things considerable about the new Building of Shipps in dry Docks

•at Deptford and Woolwich.

1. That we joyntly move the lord adm 11 , that from henceforth there be noemore old shipps sold,, how defective soever, but rather that they be brought intothe dock, least there be noe other built in their steads, as hath happened w ,h theForesight, Bonadventure, and others.

2. That after any shipp is brought into the docks to Be new built, or repaired, there be noe condition or quality in her altered at the pleasure of the ma*ship-w.right but that first the case bee argued before us, and the lord adm 11acquainted therew h , and w h the occasions for the alterations.

. 3 * That after theestimate be made, sufficient store of provisions of all sortsbe first brought into the yards before any worke be undertaken, both to preventthe lingering charge of employing a small number of workemen, and theexcessive charge that the want of a small matter will bring with when manyare employed : and that the dayes worke for unlading of timber, especially atWoolwich, be putt off, and.that a contract be made by the yeare, or by the-load.

4. That there be no chipps at all carrved out of yards but on Saturday^nights.,

5. That consideracon be had concerning painting and carving, whetherthere may not be a more frugall'course taken to lessen the charge thereof.

6. That we settle directions both for the ordinary expence of materialls, andfor reformation of workmanship, w ch hath been of late soe much neglected bythe under officers, that tfye very wages alone doth comonlv exceed the estimate, hoth of wages and provisions.

GENERALL CONSIDERACONS.

1. It‘is agreed upon by us all, that there be a meeting once every month tillMichaelmas come twelve months, to read over the remembrances proper tothe discharge of our generall duties, and accordingly to put the same by ourwarr ,s and letters in execuc on, and the next yeare, and every once a quarter,to that purpose : the meeting to bee (alternis vicibus) at every officer’s housetill there be a house taken for our meeting.
