Of the lessening of the Maisters.
The maisters which of late yeares have been six, wee conceive may beereduced to the antient number of foure, and of them to appoint two to dyett,and lodge, and boarde. These two royall shipps, and the others, by turne tobee employed as captaines and maisters of the small shipps or pinnaces at theNarrow Seas, or as maisters in the admirall or vice-admirall there, as the lordadmirall shall direct, and soe to encrease their wages upon the sea booke>that their £.40 in harbour may be £.60 at sea, soe as each of the fouremaisters may have £.50 by the yeare, and be halfe a yeare at sea.
