soone as they shall bee allowed and ratifyed under the hand of the lord admiral),and hee to acquaint his Ma' 7 therewithal!.

By establishing to that end the said com’ission, to bee for that time aconTission of comptrollment of the shipps, soe as the said cotrfissioners, or anythree, or more of them, whereof A B or D to bee one, may doe and performfor his Ma 7 ' service in his marine causes, all and whatsoever the comptroller,or the other principall officers of the shipps, joyntly or severally might or oughtto have done, and that whatsoever shall bee done, allowed, directed, or orderedby them as aforesaid, shall bee of like force and effect, and as duely executedand observed, as if the said officers, joyntly or severally, had done, allowed,directed, or ordered the same; and that all bookes, or bills for payments,rated and signed by any foure of them, whereof A B or D to bee one, shall beesufficient warrants to the treaYer of the navy to make payment thereof, and toall auditors and officers whome it may concerne, to give allowance of the sameupon his accompts.
4. By appointing two of us speciall cormssioners for y e building, repaireing,and surveying of the shipps, and for their compleate rigging and equippage, andfor all manner of sea stores, according to the rules prescribed in our bookes,and to indent with the boatswaines and carpenters, and to take all such surveysand accompts, and doe all things the surveyors of the navy, or his deputy, didor ought to have done, first acquainting the other commissioners, being advisedand directed by them.
5. By authorising the said conrfissioners to make choice of an able clerke, asthe l d adm" shall approve, both to attend y* said com~issioners to register theiracts, to make warrants, bills, and bookes of comptrollments ; and also, at othertimes, to attend the workes, and to finde out and provide such supplys of allprovisions as shall bee required, according to such directions as the said confis-sioners shall give.
6. By requireing the said commissioners to sett downe, by generall advice, suchorders and rules for the good government of all inferiour officers, and particulerdirections of every part of the service, as shall bee further expedient, and thesame to present to the lord admirall, to be considered and allowed as to his wis-dome shall seeme meete.
7. By continueing this corrfission during the terme appointed for the per-formance of the propositions in our booke, or elce soe long as to his Ma' 7 shallseeme best. And if any of the said commissioners shall dye in the meane time,
