The brilliant yellow flowers of the Helianthemumprocumbens, are similar to those of our indigenousspecies, the Helianthemum vulgare, than which noprettier trailer is claimed by the British Flora.Whether amongst cultivated gaieties in the garden,or luxuriating on its native banks of chalk orgravel, it is equally a pleasing little object. TheHelianthemum- procumbens, which, by the bye, is arather scarce plant, has a character in which itvaries materially from vulgare, and from mostothers of the genus; we allude to its heath-likefoliage, which has a neat effect, when growing inbushes amongst artificial rock-work; or on a raisedstone border, which may be formed in any gardenwithout appearing intrusive; and is useful as a drysituation for such plants as are rather tender.

Helianthemum procumbens should be planted ina light sandy soil, and may be increased both bycuttings of the young wood, or by seeds, which aresometimes ripened. Young plants kept, duringwinter, in pots, and turned out in May, flower themost freely.
