the car. Mr. "Wright, who was in the smoker atthe time of the fall, belonged in this ear. Ilisdescription had already been recognized by theauthor, but the photographs were shown to Mr.Ormsbee, and he, after close examination, withsolemnity said,They were the children who werein my car. Another photograph of the wholefamily was afterwards sent to Mr."Wright,of Nash­ ville , and was recognized as the likeness oi thefamily 7 which he had noticed in that state-room.

There is an affecting story about this family:It is supposed that they were in the state-roomat the time of the fall and by some means thewife and children were held in the wreck andcould not be extricated. The father tried to savethem but the flames arose. He could escapehimself and actually did get out of the car andaway from the flames, but the little girl cried out,Papa! oh, Papa! take me! and he went back,exclaiming, I would rather perish with myfamily; I cant live without them, and so allperished together.
