PASSAIC , r. N. J. which flows S. into New-ark Bay. It is navigable 10 m. for small ves-sels. At Patterson, which is situated on thisstream, are the Passaic Falls: here the riverhas a fall of 72 feet perpendicular, presenting ascene of singular beauty and grandeur. It ismuch visited as an interesting natural curiosity.
PASSAMAQUODDY, bay, which forms apart of the boundary between Maine and NewBrunswick. It is about 6 m. in extent from N.to S. and 12 from E. to W.
PATAPSCO, r. Aid. rises in the NW. cor-ner of Baltimore co. runs SE. and empties intothe Chesapeake Bay , between North Point andBodkin Point. It is navigable to Baltimore city, which is situated on it, 14 m. from itsmouth, for vessels of the largest class.
