A quelque distanee au-dessous de l'escalier de Neptune, on trouve : i°. deuxécluses , a°. une gare , ou hassin, longue de ado mètres et large de 90 -,3 °. l’écluse d’entrée dans la baie d’Eil, qui conduit à la mer Atlantique.
