Now and then the Editor blunders on the otherHand, by multiplying Mills s Authorities. For In-stance.

In his Note on i Cor. xv. 15. the Clermont La-thi Copy is twice reckoned; first as a MS, andsecondly as the Vulgate. He repeats this Mijlake yEph. ii. 8.

Gal. iii. 15. Mention is made plurally of theLincoln MSS, tho Mills ipeaks but of one suchMS, that contains the Epijlles , the other havingonly the Gospels.

Col.i. 27. Among the MSS that read r wXSirv yhe sets down Germ. Gr. tho the Latin only of thatMS (o reads, and tho himself had just before givenus a different Reading of Germ. Gr.

Among his lesier Mistakes may also be reckonedthat on i Cor. ii. r. where, for Beza he puts Bede-,and that on z Cor. ii. 17. where for Line. he setsdown Leicejl. Lastly on Phil. i. 23. where for AT.z. Cov.z. 4. as Mills has it, he writes As. Col. 2.4.

Other Errors the Editor is guilty of, which makethe various Readings, where they are found, quiteuseless. For one while he mistranscribes the variousReadings, and at another he joins Authorities be-longing to diftinB Readings, as attesting to one andthe fame.

Thus Rom.x iii. 5. where the Text is avccy-zyrdaseff, Mills gives us another Reading, viz. usre-rdayeS-e. But the Editor gives us Mi Its$ Authori-ties, barely for the Omislion of dvdyw,. As ifTchssedp in such a Case might stand unaltered.

Again Mills gives us another Reading on this Passage, viz. Necessitate Jubditi eftote , (from aGreek Copy, chat read dvdyxy ijzsvretoi-e&e) Au tho-' ' k ' Mies
