And sincefee some insects have whole clusters of eyes, as I men-Uon above; and that one of the senses is at present dis-used all over the body, namely feeling ; these instancesLievv this to be neither impossible nor inconceivable.

I cannot put an end to this Note without adding whata learned and ingenious Friend has farther observed onthis subject, viz. That it may be one reason among^hers, why the body thus limits and confines the per-Ce ptivity of the foul in the present state, that there mightUot be a confusion of objects all acting on the foul at° n ce, and a hurry and indistinctness in the attention; asWhen a person has more things to dispatch than he can^ell look to: And that this may likewise be one reasontvhy all our past thoughts and consciousness, are not in'dew at the fame time; though they may be recollectedm a. great measure when occasion requires: But that how~e ' r er, in a state of separation, when the activity of thefoul is freed from all impediments, its perceptivity willa 'fo be without confinement from material organs; andk°th will be in proportion then, as they are now.
