8tbly, The whole Work must be con-cluded with giving compleat Instructionson the Art of ajfaytng metalline and mi-neral Ores in small Quantities-; nothinghere should be omitted, which can in anyShape be conducive to this Purpose, for itis of very great and material Concern :Here some Things may be taken notice ofwhich I have mentioned in my former Let-ters ; but will omit them, as they will na-turally Occur to an Author that is qualifiedfor this Undertaking, or that is capable offraming a compleat System of Mining andSmelting.

If a Treatise should be executed, thatlaid out a plain Plan, founded upon a solidTheory, the Whole confirmed and esta-blished by Experiments, it might reason-ably be expected, that Mining and Smelt-ing would undoubtedly raise their Head ; itmight justly be concluded, that these twoArts would soon come into a flourishingState in this Kingdom ; that they would,in a few Years, gain the Ascendancy inmany Particular?, even over those wherethe Mines are worked to the greatest Per-fection yet known.
