Bu’lkheads .—Five in number, one in after run as high as cabin floors;one in fore peak; one at each end of engine space, and one abaft the forehold, all of y inch to within 5 feet of the water line, and % inch for theremainder of plates, with angle iron 3 inches by 3 inches by y inch.
Stringers .—Main-deck Stringers to be of angle iron 3^ inches by 3^inches by y 2 inch thick, with plate for 90 feet amidships 22 inches by ^ inchfore and aft. Poop-deck Stringer to be of angle iron 3 inches by 3 inches byy inch, with plates 14 inches by y inch. Rail Stringer to be 2j^-inch by2j4-inch angle iron. Twixt-deck Stringers to be of double angle iron backto back 6 inches by 33^ inches by inch. Twixt-deck beams to be wellrivetted to beams and reverse frarnes, all the plates and Stringers to be inas long lengths as possible, and flush jointed with Straps underneath anddouble rivetted at joints, as also well rivetted to beams and angle-ironStringer.
Engine beams. —All as required for engine and boilers, as also hatchways,Skylights all to suit to plan of engines.
Rudder . —The rudder stock to be 5 inches diameter down to below thecounter, the remainder to be 5 inches by 3 inches, the plates to be y inch;the proper steering gear, with mahogany wheel, all complete, to be con-nected therewith, and a spare stand tiller provided.
Beam ties .—A tie of bar iron 4^ inches by y inch shall extend alongthe top of the main-deck beams at each side of the hatchways from bow tofront of poop, and be well rivetted on top of deck beams.
Waterways and decks .—The main waterways to be of pitch pine 12 inchesby 6 inches; the main deck to be of yellow pine 3 ^ inches thick and 5 inchesbroad, carefully screwed to deck beams; the poop and forecastle coveringboards of red pine 12 inches by 3 inches, and their decks of yellow pine3 inches thick. Forecastle and cabin floors of yellow pine 2 inches thick.The whole of the decks to be well seasoned and free from sap or otherimperfections.
Bulwarks .—The bulwarks to be of iron, having every alternate frame ofthe vessel running up to the main rail; height of bulwarks to be from3 feet 6 inches to 4 feet, with top-gallant bulwarks of wood about 16 inchesabove main rail, carried all the way round the vessel; main rail of best rockelm 12 inches by 3 inches, edged with yellow metal 30 ounces to the squarefoot.
Windlass.- —A windlass to be furnished of British oak 18 inches in thering, fitted with patent purchase and cast-iron whelps complete.
