On one fide of it is his portrait, with Hacwinus Dux Norvegie, on the other acrofs between three rofes, and moneta Eajldia. The author is unacquainted with anyother. Sten Sture , the younger, was the firft that ever {truck emblazoned pieces. Onone fide is the head of St. Eric, with this infeription: 5 . Nummi cujufdam pfeiido —Sturii vulgo dale junckaren diefi, qui anno 1524, contra Gtftavum pri'mum Regem Suede:feditionem emciliavit. This bears on one fide the letter N with a crown furreundedby two fmall erodes and two rings: about, Nicolaus Sture; on the other fide, a (hieldwith three crowns and this legend, M. M. in v llibus , meaning money of Mora in thevalley. It is a well eftablifhed fa<Et in hiftory, that this falfe Sture remained for a longtime in Dalecarlia, in the neighbourhood of Mora. There is another fmaller coin ofthe fame Sture , which is likewife very rare. A gold coin of Guflavus I., on one fidehe is reprefented crowned, with a fword in his right band, and a globe and crofs in theother, between his legs a {hield : the infeription, Giftavus Dei gratia Suecomm Rex ;on the reverfe, another {hield quartered, in two of the quarters are blazoned the threecrowns, in each of the other two a lion; around, nionet. nova Stockol. 1528. This crownis called nummus aureus inauguralis. This fingular piece is where-it ought to be, in theKing’s poffeffion ; the author never faw a fimiiar. There is a filver coin of fimilarftamp, which is alfo extremely rare. The author fpeaks of one in his collection as theonly one he ever faw. Guftavus Adolphus with his Queen Eleanor, a gold coin of twoducats value. On one fide are the heads of the King and Queen, with this infeription:

' Guftavus Adolphus et Maria Eleonora Rex et Regi. Suet, on the reverfe, contra /pentin fpem: at the bottom, the arms of the city of Augfburg, and the date 1632. In tKemidfl two Ihields; on that of the right the arms of Sweden and Gothland, on that ofthe left thofe of Brandenburg. This piece is lefs valuable for its raVity than for its beingthe earlieft on which are impreffed the heads of the King and Queen conjointly, andthe arms of Sweden united with thofe of Brandenburg.”
