Sixth

Grajfe. Chapter.

THE 5th of August the fleet weighed anchor from St. Domingo,and on the 30th arrived in the bay of Chesapeak. The dispatches ofGenerals Washington and Rochambeau, received by the Count deGraffe, informed him of the situation of their army, and the successwhich the British arms had obtained in Virginia and Maryland. Thefrigate Concorde, by which this intelligence had been conveyed, wassent back to acquaint the above generals that the French fleet, was-ar--rived off Cape Henry.
