tinguishable from Ccesiella. Thebest distinctive character is thenfurnished by the more rounded hindmargin of the anterior wings; inCasiella they are more cut away atthe anal angle, and the wings thereappear perceptibly narrower than inGriseocapitella.

Again, in Griseocapitella we oftensee a pale dorsal spot less distinctand anterior to the white subapicalcostal spot; it is not always present,but in Ccesiella it does not seem tobe represented; also in Griseocapi-tella we only see one white costalspot; in the male Ccesiella there arealways two. In the form and posi-tion of the fascia and in the othermarkings I cannot find any appre-ciable characters.

Expansion of the wings 5J—6lines. Head generally dark greyish-fuscous, but sometimes white, witha few ochreous hairs. Face whitish.Palpi internally whitish, externallygrey, with the tip of the terminaljoint white. Antennae whitish, an-nulated with dark fuscous. Anteriorwings rather dark grey, with a slightviolet gloss, with several rather in-distinct longitudinal rows of darkfuscous atoms; a little before themiddle of the inner margin arises aslightly oblique dark fascia-formblotch, and a smaller darker blotchlies on the inner margin just beforethe anal angle ; this is generally fol-lowed by a few white scales ; on thecosta towards the apex is a con-spicuous white spot ; cilia dark cop-

Ontrouve alors le meilleur caractèredistinctif dans le bord postérieurplus arrondi des ailes antérieures ;chez la Ccesiella elles sont pluséchancrées à l’angle anal, et les ailesparaissent ici plus étroites que chezla Griseocapitella.

De plus chez la Griseocapitellanous voyons souvent une tache dor-sale pâle moins distincte et plusrapprochée de la base de l’aile que latache blanche costale sousapicale—on ne la voit pas toujours - mais chezla Ccesiella elle ne paraît pas dutout ; outre cela nous remarquonsque chez la Griseocapitella il n’y aqu’une seule tache costale blanche,tandis que chez la Casiella $ il yen a toujours deux. La forme et laposition de la bande et les autresdessins ne nous donnent pas decaractères sensibles.

Envergure des ailes 5j — 6"'. Latête est ordinairement d’un brun-grisâtre assez foncé, mais quelquefoiselle est blanche, avec quelques poilsochracés. Le front est blanchâtre.Les palpes sont blanchâtres inté-rieurement, extérieurement ils sontgris, avec le bout de l’article terminalblanc. Les antennes sont blanch-âtres, annelées d’un brunâtre foncé.Les ailes antérieures sont d’un grisassez foncé, avec une légère teinte deviolet, avec plusieurs séries longitu-dinales peu distinctes de points d’unbrunâtre foncé ; un peu avant lemilieu du bord interne il y a unetache foncée, en forme de bande,un peu oblique, et une tache pluspetite et plus foncée se trouve sur lebord interne tout près de l’angle
