making moldings and drop siding. Thecan he detached for replaning or adjustment.

The Automatic Self-Acting Pressure-Bar, or Chip-Breaker, Before the cut ofthe upper cylinder on the feeding-inside is attached to arms, and swingseccentric to the periphery of the cylin-der, insuring safety from contact withthe cutters. The bar after the cut ad-justs vertically, while both are auto-matic and self-acting in their operationduring the process of planing, and bothare adjustable to and from the cuttingedge of the cylinder, to give room fordifferent lengths of cutters required inbed Linder the cylinder has a plate that

As beading cutters can be usedon the steel slotted cylinders, thePatent Adjustable Beading Attach-ment shown mounted in the Press-ure-Bar over the last under cylinderis not furnished unless so ordered.

The Matching Works are of themost substantial character. T h earbors are of large diameter, run inself-oiling bearings, and are adjustablewith the guides simultaneously orindependent!y from the feeding-inend or working side of machine, across the bed-plate to any pointdesired, so that the wear may beequalized.

They have a vertical adjustmentin the lower bearing to take up anywear of the spindles, and are provideding them in position when once set.

AUTOMATIC WEIGHTED SIDE CHIP-BREAKER.

Our Improved Automatic WeightedSide Chip-Breaker or Clip is appliedto all machines. It is hinged to thematcher-hanger, and is the same inprinciple as the automatic self-actingpressure-bar before the cut of theupper cylinder. As the pressure isproduced by a weight it is uniformat all times, whether the cut is heavyor light. It swings eccentrically fromthe cutters, and while it is arrangedto work very close to the edge it canneve r come in contact with t li ecutters, for the movement is greater

than any possible cut that can bemade, and as the liability of imperfect work upon the edge is greater than uponthe surface, owing to the weakness of the tongue and character and quality of it,the value of this improvement will be appreciated.
