Four-Inch Patent Molding and Sash Machine.
To Work Four Sides.
The demand for a small molding machine to work np to 4" in width on allfour sides at one operation, and applicable for sticking sash and blinds, groovingdoor-stiles, planing blind-slats, etc., has been so urgent that we have designedfFe above machine, and believe it will meet every requirement.
The arbors are of steel, lead-ground, and run in patent self-oiling bearings.The upper head runs on a heavy arbor, and has an end adjustment. The outerside head is adjustable across the bed, raises vertically with it, and can be swungfo varying angles. The under, or fourth, head is also made of steel, and raisesa nd lowers with the bed. It has, besides, a separate vertical adjustment, and canlie lowered below the face of the bed when not wanted for use.
The platen after the under head can be instantly thrown back, when accessf° it is required for changing cutters, or sharpening, and has movable throatsf°r narrowing the gap over the head. It has two feeding rolls, made in sections,a nd strongly geared, forming a strong feed. It is supplied with our patent self-a djusting pressure-bar and swinging bonnet, which is adjustable to and from thePath of the cutter, and can be instantly thrown back out of the way for accessfo the head.
The frame is long, securing good length of belts. The bed is gibbed to theframe, and can be lowered to work door rails 16" wide. The main arbor is fur-nished with a four-slotted steel head, with straight cutters, and one capped head.
ne side heads and under head are arranged to carry two knives. A full set ofWrenches and springs are sent with each machine.
The tight and loose pulleys are 8"x4", and should make 750 revolutions.
