Patent Door and Sash-Tenoning Machine.

With Vibrating Carriage.

This machine is constructed with ail the operating parts mounted upon a sub-stantial cored column, with broad base. It is adapted to all the requirements of smallsash and door-shops, and other light work. The arbors are of large diameter, lead-ground, and run in self-oiling bearings cast to gateways, gibbed to the face of thecolumn. They are adjustable vertically to suit the thickness of tenon, and have alock attachment for retaining them in position when once set.

The improved vibrating carriage is very light, works with ease, and is providedwith the necessary stops, extension-rod, etc. It is gibbed to and runs on a broad slide. At each end of the carriage a V brace connection extends down and unites at the baseto a swinging arm. Its movement is so free and easy it makes the carriage in itsmovement almost frictionless. It also permits the operator to follow up his work.

The copes are attached to the cutter-head gateways, and raise and lower withthem, or they can be adjusted independently. The cope-lieads move out and in withsingle screws. The angle and shape of the tenon-cutters insure a drawing cut andsmooth and accurate work. The belt which drives the cutter-heads is at the end ofthe machine. A self-adjusting binder pulley operates to keep it tight and give to theeutter-heads a uniform speed.

The tight and loose pulleys are S^xS", and should make 950 revolutions.
