Patent Cabinet Tenoning Machine.
With Adjustable Cutter-Heads, Sliding Carriage, etc.
This machine is built on the same general principles as the No. 3 Tenoner, page 126, with the exception that each end of the carriage slides on ways sup-ported on an extension of the column. The carriage is of extra width and length, and made of wrought tubes, with end connections, making it light and easy towork. The arbors are of large diameter, lead-ground, with self-oiling bearings, running in connected gate-ways gibbed to the column, and belted at the endof the machine.
The cutter-heads are raised and lowered vertically by a single screw to suitthe thickness of the tenon. The upper head has a separate endwise adjustment,so one shoulder can be made longer than the other if desired, and both are raisedsimultaneously, or adjusted separately by hand-wheel and screw. The center hand-wheel separates the heads and regulates the thickness of the tenon.
A cut-off saw attachment for cutting the material to a length before or afterthe tenon-heads is furnished when so ordered. All the bearings are long, thejournals large, and every part built in the most careful manner. The cutter-heads are fitted with improved saw-spurs, and are securely locked and retainedin any position set.
The tight and loose pulleys are 10"x+", and should make 830 revolutions.
